The Academy Nature Project

Doctors and psychologists have long recognized that spending time in nature leads to a healthier well-being. Time spent outdoors is related to lower stress levels, decreased blood pressure, and a reduced risk of chronic diseases such as asthma, allergies, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

June is National Great Outdoors Month and we want to see how you are getting outside! We've pulled together a list of resources to help you get started exploring the outdoors and added Five Tips and 100 Places to Inspire You to Get Outside on the Academy Blog.

To keep the inspiration going, we're bringing back the Academy Nature Project and we'll be posting a different photo prompt each week on our social media channels to encourage you to share both current and past nature photos.

Upcoming prompts:

  • June 3 - Green
  • June 9 - Flowers and Fields
  • June 16 - Water (oceans, rivers, waterfalls, streams)
  • June 23 - Sunrise/Sunset
  • June 30 – Trees/forests

Follow us on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter to see our prompts each week and share your images in the replies or use #AcademyNatureProject.
