Donor Privacy Policy

Our most important asset is our donors’ trust. We respect donor privacy by keeping personal and gift information secure and using it only as our donors and members would want us to.

• We safeguard, according to high standards of security and confidentiality, any information our members and donors share with us.
• We will permit only a limited number of authorized employees who are trained in the proper handling of donor information to have access to that information. Employees who violate our Privacy Policy will be subject to our disciplinary process.
• We will not sell or rent our donor and member lists for commercial purposes.
• We will, from time to time on a reciprocal basis, facilitate membership and relevant program offers from other non-profit organizations with solid credentials, who in turn facilitate membership offers from the Academy of Natural Sciences.
• These non-profit organizations are not permitted to retain any donor information unless an individual has specifically expressed an interest in supporting their services.

At least once annually, we tell members how they may remove their names from such offers or from our mailing list. We strictly honor these requests. Companies we work with to process credit card transactions use high-grade encryption and security protocols.

Event Privacy Policy

When you enter an in-person or digital event or program at the Academy of Natural Sciences (“ANS”), you enter an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.

By entering the event, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional materials, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media or any other purpose by ANS and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote or highlight ANS.

You release ANS from any and all liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing and/or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, audio recordings and video recordings.

By entering the event, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video or audio recording taken by ANS or the person or entity designated to do so by ANS. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability and release before entering the event.

You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree to the above, please do not enter the event.
