It’s our way of saying thank you — and of creating meaningful, memorable moments just for you.

Ichthyology has been a part of research at the Academy since its beginnings, and over the years, it has grown in size and importance over the last 127 years. The collection currently houses an estimated 1.5 million cataloged specimens. The department’s research stretches worldwide, but its strengths include freshwater species of North and South America and marine species of the Bahamas, Western Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
During this members-only tour, Curator of Ichthyology Mark Sabaj Pérez will showcase a few of our most impressive specimens hidden inside this remarkable collection.
Space is very limited. This members-only program is free, but registration is required. Members, please sign in to register for this program.
