The Academy of Natural Sciences Joins Museums for All Program

The program grants $2 admission to SNAP benefit recipients and up to three guests

June 9, 2025

PHILADELPHIA, June 9, 2025 — Today the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (the Academy) announced that it has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM).

The program encourages people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.

The program supports those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits visiting the Academy for a minimal fee of $2 per person, up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Similar free and reduced admission is available to eligible members of the public at more than 1,350 museums across the country. Museums for All is part of the Academy’s broad commitment to seek, include and welcome all.

Science and the natural world are for everyone, and the Academy is thrilled to take part in the Museums for All program that helps make that mission a reality by expanding access to our collections and educational programs to more visitors,” — Kim Reynolds, Chief Advancement Officer for the Academy.

Museums for All helps expand access to museums and also helps raise public awareness about how museums in the U.S. are reaching their entire communities. More than 1,500 institutions participate in the initiative, including art museums, children’s museums, science centers, botanical gardens, zoos, history museums, and more. Participating museums are located nationwide, representing all 50 states.

Additional options are available for anyone who wants to attend the Academy at a reduced cost, including: Free admission as part of the Wawa Welcome America festival on June 20. Museum passes available through local library partnerships. Reduced admissions on select $10 days throughout the summer. Dinos After Dark events on the Fourth Friday of most months with pay-what-you-wish admission.
