Three Named to Governing Board

PHILADELPHIA, February 12, 2014

The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is pleased to welcome three new trustees recently named to its governing board.

The Academy is a leading natural history museum dedicated to advancing research, education, and public engagement in biodiversity and environmental science. Founded in 1812, the Academy is the nation’s oldest natural history museum and a top destination in Philadelphia.

“This is an exciting time to be a part of the Academy’s governing board, as we continue to make strides toward our vision of a sustainable future,” said Academy President and CEO George W. Gephart, Jr. “We are so pleased to welcome Robert Drury, Ellen Harvey and Jun Huangpu to help lead this effort.”

Robert Drury, of Haverford, is a partner of Laurel Capital Partners, a Radnor private equity firm focused on growth equity and buyout investments in small companies. Drury has more than 30 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, financings, and general management. Prior to joining Laurel, Drury was president of RED Associates, where he advised small and mid-market companies on strategies for profitable growth, provided financial management services, and sourced financing for developing companies. He also was founder and chief financial officer of GCA Services, Inc.; chief financial officer of Sodexo, U.S.; and chief financial officer of Aramark’s International and Leisure Services sectors.

Ellen Harvey, of Bryn Mawr, is managing director at Miller Investment Management and principal at Lindsay Criswell, LLC. Since 2004, she has been involved with Miller Investment Management, which manages portfolios through asset allocation for wealthy families, foundations and endowments. Previously, she worked with Vanguard, Mercantile Bankshares and Brown Investment Advisory and Trust, following positions with Miller Anderson & Sherrerd and Morgan Stanley. Harvey chairs the investment committee of the Oak Hill Fund and sits on the investment committee of Main Line Health System, where she is a member of the Board of Governors.

Dr. Jun Huangpu, of Wynnewood, is the owner of Cobbs Creek Healthcare, a consultancy that provides business analytics including healthcare market research and information technology services. He also is a partner with Healogix, a global health care market research and consulting firm in Horsham. He is a member of the Physician Advisory Board of MedTera and is executive director for the Wynnewood-based Main Line Chinese Culture Center, which he co-founded with his wife, Xia Li. Previously, Huangpu was a market research and business development manager with AstraZeneca and Prism Pharmaceuticals and a consultant with IMS and Verispan.
