All-Star Days

PHILADELPHIA, December 2, 2014

Dinosaurs, weird specimens in jars, science detectives, live animal encounters and an exhibit about chocolate are all in store for All-Star Days, Saturday, Dec. 27 through Tuesday, Dec. 30 at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

For four days, the Academy celebrates the most popular of its family programs with engaging activities, rare fossil, feather and insect displays, new live animal shows and crafts to create and take home. Each day features a different nature theme, so there’s plenty to do by coming more than once to All-Star Days.

In the Special Exhibits Gallery, Chocolate: The Exhibition, presented by Mars Chocolate North America, describes the intriguing story of this “food of the gods” from its origin as a rain forest plant to America’s favorite sweet. A special hot chocolate bar featuring different kinds of hot cocoa and delicious toppings will be presented by 12th Street Catering from noon to 2 p.m. each day, as a special part of All-Star Days.

The following are the timed highlights of All-Star Days and are free with regular museum admission. For a full list of activities, visit the Academy’s All-Star Days web page at http://bit.ly/12jXKsd
