Academy Science Camp
We regret to share that the Academy of Natural Sciences will not be hosting a summer camp program in 2026. We know this may be disappointing for campers who look forward to spending their summers exploring and learning with us, and we are truly grateful for the enthusiasm they bring to the Academy each year.
With the Academy now open to the public Fridays through Sundays, we’re unable to provide the consistent Monday–Friday resources that a high-quality camp experience requires.
We remain fully committed to inspiring young minds and cultivating a passion for the natural world for students through summer membership offerings, so instead of camps we will be supporting museum visits from other camp programs and offering enriching and interactive events both at the Academy and local libraries all summer long.
There are many ways for you and your family to enjoy the Academy during the summer, including daytime programming, Dino-mite Summer, our special exhibition Botany of Nations, Dinos After Dark, Bug Fest and special summer membership options. In fact, our membership team is hard at work curating a summer of science that will include:
- Two special summer member field trips, including to Edelman Fossil Park and Museum in late June and to a regional native plant garden in celebration of the Academy’s upcoming exhibition, Botany of Nations.
- A unique membership extension opportunity for our summer camp families.
- Monthly members-only family-oriented behind-the-scenes tours.
- Member presales for our popular Night in the Museum events.
- New opportunities to attend programs virtually this coming fall.
Check our website in the coming weeks for more information and a guide to enjoying the Academy in summer 2026.
We know how important our summer camp program is to our families, especially those who look to the Academy as a trusted provider of science education for your children during the summer workday. There are many summer camp programs in the area for kids who love the natural world, including programs at Morris Arboretum, the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, Riverbend Environmental Education Center and Elmwood Park Zoo. The Academy will also be partnering with local libraries to help enrich their summer programming, so check with your library for information.
Our camp families bring energy, curiosity and joy to the Academy every summer, and we are deeply grateful for your continued interest and support. We look forward to making new summer memories with you in 2026!
