Booking your field trip to the Academy of Natural Sciences is easy! Here’s how.

1. Choose your preferred dates and experiences: Self-guided Visit info
2. Fill out our online request form, or call Reservations Office at 215-299-1060
3. Add ANS_reservations@drexel.edu to your safe senders list. You should receive a response within 2-3 business days, which will include either a request for additional information, or a copy of the invoice and schedule your visit.
4. Book your bus and recruit your chaperones.

All school groups are now scheduled to attend an educational live science show in our Auditorium at no additional charge. Please allow at least one hour of free time to explore Dinosaur Hall, the changing exhibits hall, Science at the Academy, and the diorama halls of North America, Asia, and Africa.

Field Trip Payment

Confirmation of both your school’s payment method and timeline are required at least three weeks prior to your reservation date. All remaining balances are due upon arrival unless otherwise previously communicated to our Reservations Office, and accompanied by their written approval. The museum reserves the right to turn away groups for insufficient funds.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made a minimum of two weeks prior to your visit. Cancellations made within two weeks of visiting may be subject to cancellation fees or other penalties. Large overpayments received via check can be refunded back to their original issuing account. An up-to-date copy of your school’s W-9 form is required in order to submit a request for a refund check.

Final maximum headcounts are also due two weeks in advance of your visit. If you anticipate any dramatic changes to your attendee totals, please contact us ASAP at ANS_reservations@drexel.edu.

Museum Memberships cannot be combined with group visits. Other discounts, coupons, and affiliate memberships are not applicable with group admission.

Visiting Details

Entrance:

Use the Group Entrance along the 19th Street side of the building. Academy staff will meet with you at the scheduled arrival time.

Bus Parking:

Buses can park for $20 per day, per bus at the Callowhill Bus Parking Facility at 2nd and Callowhill Streets in Philadelphia.

Chaperones:

School groups MUST provide one chaperone (complementary admission) for every 10 students (or campers) through Grade 12. Chaperones must be over 18 years old. Additional chaperones will be charged the group admission rate.

Lunchroom:

A lunchroom is located in the Commons Room on the Ground Level. Lunchroom reservation is based on availability. There is a 30 minute time limit.

Accessibility and Service Animals

This webpage provides information that should ease and enhance your visit. Staff are always happy to assist you in any way both before and during your visit. If your group will be accompanied by one or more service animals, please inform our Visitor Services Department in advance at visitorservices@ansp.org or 215-299-1000. This will help us decide which animals to select for your lessons or programs.
