Wednesday, February 18, 2026
2:00 PM-2:45 PM
Entomology has played a part in the Academy of Natural Sciences since its founding in 1812. The department's collections hold approximately four million insect specimens, of which more than 11,000 are primary types. Current research in the department focuses on taxonomy, systematics, biogeography, and behaviors of insects around the world.
During this members-only tour, Collection Manager Jason Weintraub will showcase a few of our most impressive specimens hidden inside this remarkable collection.
Space is very limited. This members-only program is free, but registration is required. Members, please sign in to register for this program.
