Outdoors for Everyone Nature Walk at Fairmount Water Works Trail & Boardwalk

Saturday, October 26, 2024

11:00 AM-1:00 PM

Join Disability Pride PA and the Academy of Natural Sciences for a nature walk around the Fairmount Water Works trail and boardwalk.

Led by ANS Volunteer and Civic Engagement Sr. Mgr. John Eskate, we expect to see a nice mix of fall migrating birds, raptors, waterfowl, gulls, reptiles, amphibians, moths and butterflies, plants, fungi, hopefully some fish, and whatever else we can find. All abilities welcome and no experience needed!

We will gather at The Schuylkill River Trail in front of the Lloyd Hall Recreation Center. There is a parking lot at the Lloyd Hall with a few accessible parking sites. We will use the technology of two Apps, iNaturalist and Merlin. Feel free to download in advance of our nature walk.

A limited number of Free Library birding backpacks will be made available to nature walk participants.
