Gender Minorities in the Sciences
Friday, June 7, 2024
3:00 PM-6:00 PM
The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University will host its inaugural Gender Minorities in the Sciences Panel on Friday, June 7, at 3 p.m.
Gender minority scientists, including women, nonbinary and other gender nonconforming individuals, have worked to overcome the large amount of gender bias in recruitment, promotions, publications, salaries, access to adequate funding and various other areas over the last decade. As their participation in the sciences continues to grow, gender minorities remain underrepresented and face significant challenges.

Through the Gender Minorities in the Sciences Panel, the Academy aims to raise awareness and support for equitable representation and leadership across gender lines in the sciences.
Hear from our dynamic panel of gender minorities in the sciences, network and engage in meaningful dialogue with peers! Panel sessions will be followed by a networking reception in North American Hall.
This is also an opportunity for networking, community building and fostering a meaningful dialogue about cultivating a workplace based in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access and Leadership (IDEAL).
This program is hosted by the Women, Trans and Gender-Expansive IDEAL Working Group (WTGE) at the Academy.
