Science From Home Member Event: Macroinvertebrate Madness

Wednesday, June 24, 2020

3:30 PM-4:30 PM

Academy members of all ages are invited to join our researchers to learn about macroinvertebrates and why they’re so important. In the 1940s, Academy researcher Dr. Ruth Patrick developed a method of assessing the health of a waterway by studying the life found within it, including macroinvertebrates (insects, crayfish, snails and more). Nearly 80 years later, studying the macroinvertebrates collected from a waterway is still a fundamental component of water quality research.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the scientists. You can submit your questions in advance by emailing membership@ansp.org.
