The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is the place to experience natural science in a fun and engaging way. Enjoy four floors of exhibits, get face to face with a towering T. rex, touch live animals, stroll through a live butterfly garden, meet real scientists and see science in action. Evening author talks, classes and field trips for adults, panel discussions on important environmental issues and Mega-Bad Movie Nights make the Academy a destination for all ages.
HOURS: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
CLOSED: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
ADMISSION: $15 adults; $13 children 3-12, seniors, college students, and military personnel; free for members and children under 3.

General Academy Description
Founded in 1812, the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is a world-class natural history museum dedicated to advancing research, education and public engagement in biodiversity and environmental science. The Academy houses 18 million plant and animal specimens, making its collection among the 10 largest in the U.S. Visitors to the museum can enjoy four floors of interactive permanent and changing exhibits, come face to face with T. rex, take a stroll through a tropical garden filled with live butterflies, touch live animals and meet scientists. Evening author talks, classes and field trips for adults, panel discussions on important environmental issues, and Mega-Bad Movie Nights make the Academy a destination for all ages. In 2011 the Academy became an affiliate of Drexel University, a relationship that has strengthened both institutions.
