<scopecontent>
<p>Amateur conchologist and editor, collected in the Southwest and Mexico between 1909 and 1922, with other amateurs or scientists. H. A. Pilsbry, Mr. Hand, L. E. Daniels and James M. Hinckley accompanied him on various expeditions and eventually his shells became a part of the Academy's holdings. The itineraries, descriptions of stations and maps of the area, form a valuable assemblage of geographical and ecological background data for the species concerned.</p>
