<p>Named for Henry Feldman, an ardent collector of beetles in the Philadelphia area, this society was formed in 1887 for the purpose of furthering local collecting and providing a social unit for field men. Meetings were held at the homes of members, but chiefly at the residence of H. W. Wenzel, 1115 Moore St. Membership was limited at first to 15. The founding group was composed of Messrs. Bland, Castle, Sieber, A. Hoyer, E. Wenzel, H. W. Wenzel and Charles Liebeck. The two volumes of minutes cover the years 1887 to 1926, the first volume also including the constitution and lists of members of the social, dues, and accounts at various times and a record of the scientific papers delivered by each member. The correspondence pertains to the celebration of 20th anniversary, 1907.</p>
<p>Removed from the vault in the education department in 1953. The reports of this social and the names of members were published in <emph render="italic">Entomological News </emph>from time to time.</p>
