Ages 12–16

teen camp

The Academy is currently closed as part of the effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. However, we are planning for sunnier days ahead this summer, and we can’t wait to welcome back our summer campers.

We depend upon our visitors, so we are asking you to consider reserving your summer camp spot now. We will fully refund any necessary cancellations. For answers to any questions you may have, please email reservations@ansp.org or call 215-299-1060 and leave a message. We will do our best to get back to you within 3 business days.

Invertebrate Husbandry

invert camp

Teens can tap into their inner entomologist while assisting keepers and educators in the general husbandry, feeding and handling of the live invertebrate collection at the Academy. Participants will prepare displays for various live invertebrates, including insects and arachnids. The group will learn about responsible collection and will collect at various sites in the Philadelphia region to learn about the incredible biodiversity of this area. Teens will also learn about scientific and personal specimen preservation.
