Join us for the final weekend of this special exhibit! Learn the history of your favorite cryptid beasts and the real animals that influenced their stories. Observe a Kraken dissection, get up close and personal with sea monkeys and create your own enchanted craft!

Closing Weekend Activities:

Auditorium  Show: Legendary Live Animals
11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

From fire-breathing dragons to talon-ted beasts, come meet some legendary live animals that your favorite mythos is based on!

Magical Myths

Where did the story of Bigfoot come from? How did the narwhal stir tales of the unicorn? Check out specimens from our famous research collection, and chat with Academy educators to learn about the real animals that inspired the legends you love.

Kraken Dissection

Watch as we release the kraken onto our dissection table and learn about the anatomy of the cephalopod. Write using real kraken ink, and ask questions about these creatures lurking beneath the water’s surface.

Sea Monkey Cart
10 a.m. –1 p.m, 1:30 p.m. –5 p.m.

Come check out our bowlful of happiness as we dive into the world of sea monkeys. Are they real? Are they monkeys? Find out at our interactive tech cart.
