Invertebrate Husbandry

Thursday, August 16, 2018

9:30 AM-3:30 PM

Tap into your inner entomologist during this invertebrate intensive!

Assist keepers and educators in the general husbandry, feeding, and handling of the live invertebrate collection at the Academy. Prepare displays for various live invertebrates, including insects and arachnids, learn about responsible collection, and collect invertebrates at various sites in the Philadelphia region to add to the Academy’s live collection. Then try your hand at scientific and personal specimen preservation.

Teens who attended last season will work with higher level invertebrates for 2018.
