A Venomous Viper
Today we bring you face-to-skull with one of our scarier specimens. This skull of a Gabon viper (Bitis gabonica) is part of the Academy’s Edmond Malnate Collection. Not only does the Gabon viper have the longest fangs compared to all other snakes, but it is also known to produce the greatest volume of venom. This viper is found in Sub-Saharan Africa.
