<scopecontent>
<p>A letter from Washington on the letterhead of the U. S. Geological Survey, dated April 11, 1887 and written to E. J. Nolan of the Academy. Marcou discusses the statement made by Sabine, that the Academy's copy of T. A. Conrad's <emph render="italic">Fossils of the Medial Tertiary of the United States </emph>is incomplete. Marcou agrees that Sabine is correct because he has examined one owned by Otto Meyer which has extra information. The additions to the text and titlepage made on the Academy's copy were entered by Nolan from Otto Meyer's copy. The letter was found in QE811 C75, copy 1, in the Academy's book collection.</p>
