Soon after its publication in 1890, the author began additions and corrections to W. F. Kirby's Synonymic Catalogue of Neuroptera Odonata, or Dragonflies... interleaving it at will. Through the years, he compiled an elaborate revision, occupying six small bound volumes. The latest record noted was made in 1943. In 1935 he was approached by John Cowley of London with the suggestion that a new world catalog of the Odonata be published, through the cooperation of the more prominent students in the field. Mimeographed circulars describing the proposed work were mailed by Cowley, the whole idea of the Catalog meeting with the approval of Odonatologists. No evidence that much progress was made, and presumably nothing was published.
