CALVERT, PHILIP POWELL, 1871-1961. Seasonal Distribution of Organic Life in the Tropics. (A bibliography, 1895-1958) ca. 7,000 cards. Collection 635

While a few of the entries date back to 1895, it appears that this bibliography was begun in earnest at the time of the Calverts' trip to Costa Rica, 1909-10 and continued through his life. The projected paper on this subject was never published and remains the one big project left unfinished by this scientist. Three divisions were arranged (1) by author (2) uncoded and (3) classified. A great deal of his general correspondence is concerned with this study, including outlines and suggestions from many of his colleagues.

Offered to the Academy Library Committee and accepted on January 8, 1959, but kept by Calvert during his life, coming to the manuscript division after his death.
