<p>A letter written from St. Peter's Rectory, Fairmount, W. Va., answers Edward J. Nolan's inquiry about a copy of Linn&#233;'s <emph render="italic">Species Plantarum, </emph>1753. The Rev. Boutlou agreed to send his copy of this rare book, in two volumes, to the Academy with the provision that &#8220;more modern&#8221; books on natural history be sent him in return. This letter along with the one written by Nolan to him on Dec. 4, 1907 is tipped in the front of the <emph render="italic">Species Plantarum, </emph>vol. 1.</p>
