This material collected by Nolan for his history consists of many types of information. It contains transcribed records of early minutes, deeds, biographies, news clippings, letters from relatives and reminiscences of colleagues. It is arranged by subject with a finding list to the signers of letters indicating under what subject the letter is to be found among the 68 subject folders. This original material had been roughly stored and rearranged by the librarian when the pile of records was unearthed in 1944.
