The collection consists of scrapbooks and papers which have been preserved mostly by the Department of Public Relations. The contents include two volumes of newspaper clippings, 1880-1895 with seven other volumes containing some 1300 printed announcements of events and general information about the Academy and its activities, 1902-57. These were assembled by E. J. Nolan and V. T. Phillips. A card index is filed in the library of the seven volumes last mentioned and may be consulted by subject or by author.

Another volume of news clippings, 1922-26 was prepared by H. T. Green. The loose leaf publicity scrapbooks of McCready Huston likewise include news clippings, but are extended by the addition of releases and pertinent material. Finally, the papers of Mr. Kiss, 1956, include loose items pertaining to the Dinosaur Ball held under the auspices of the Women's Committee, to raise money to install the articulated skeleton of the Hadrasaurus, now exhibited in the Hall of Earth History.
