Although records of his early collecting are many, including journals kept by him as a young man, this collection of itineraries begins with his trip to Colombia in 1922 and ends with the trip to northwestern U. S. in 1938. Included are maps showing routes and a Spanish atlas to Colombia with all his collecting stations noted by Pennell.
