British botanist and student of mosses, Turner used Bridel's Muscologia as a working copy which is in [UNK] library QK537 B76 He has inserted several extra plates, some in color and many with corrected legends by himself. The two volumes are autographed, the first with his name stamped in the book instead of a bookplate, the second carrying the date of 1803 after his name. The supplement is richly annotated, with many revised group lists pasted in the margins. In front of the first supplement is a page entitled, “Number of Species in the first volume.” Eleven memoranda or lists were laid in his copy and removed to this collection, some being mere scraps of letters with Turner's address on the verso.

The book was purchased for the library long ago, its inclusions having lain undisturbed through the years.
