Here is the original text of “Descriptions of insects of the families of Carabici & Hydrocanthari of Latreille, inhabiting North America”, read before the American Philosophical Society, August 20, 1819, later published in its Transactions, n. s., v. 2, p. 1-109, 1825. In six parts, almost complete. Also two letters are laid in, one by Say to John Vaughan, returning the proofs of the article and the other from George H. Horn, Dec. 11, 1896, offering to donate the manuscript to the American Entomological Society.
