Orthopterist, curator of insects for the Academy and close associate of James A. G. Rehn with whom he made and financed many field investigations in the United States, in the West Indies, in South America and in Europe. His personal cabinet was bequeathed to the Academy as the Hebard Collection of Dermaptera and Orthoptera. During his lifetime it was augumented by the purchase of unstudied Orthoptera from various parts of the world, and by the Laurence Bruner and the J. L. Hancock Collections. This paper is the first written by Hebard and discusses a new genus, Cyrtophyllicus.
