Animal Training and Husbandry: Beginner

Get a hands-on animal care experience during this one-of-a-kind program.

Learn about the basic care of the Academy’s live animal collection, and assist keepers and educators in the general husbandry, feeding, and training of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and invertebrates. Find out about positive reinforcement and clicker training methods. Participants will meet live animals and learn about basic handling and care, get an up-close and personal look at the live animals from our Live Animal Center, attend an wildlife rehabilitation inspired field trip, work with Academy staff to help prepare a naturalist presentation for Academy guests, and have fun!
