This year, the Academy of Natural Sciences is proud to be celebrating 35 years of the Women In Natural Sciences (WINS) program. The anniversary event, WINS 35 will showcase how WINS encourages high school girls to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). All WINS students hail from the Philadelphia School District and 98% matriculate into a four-year college. WINS remains the only all-female science program of its type in Greater Philadelphia.

WINS 35 will feature keynote speaker Lisa Dyson, PhD, CEO of Kiverdi, a technology company with a mission to develop innovations that go beyond traditional agriculture to help feed and power a growing world. Dyson developed a bio-process that uses natural microbes to convert CO2 into the proteins and oils that we use today for sustenance and to power industry. She will be awarded the first-ever WINS award to recognize an “outstanding female innovator in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) whose visionary contributions in science have made a positive impact on the world.”
Along with specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, sponsors and VIP guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet with Dyson, Drexel University President John Fry, and Academy of Natural Sciences President and CEO Scott Cooper.
